Punjab Driving Test Practice 2026: Free Quiz for Learner Licence Holders
Last updated: October 2026. This quiz is independent practice material. The real test is conducted in person at your traffic police licensing centre through Dastak.
This Punjab driving test practice quiz helps learner licence holders revise traffic signs and road rules before test day. It will not replace the official sign test or road test, and it cannot predict your result. It exists so you walk into the licensing centre having already seen the kind of questions and signs examiners use, instead of guessing for the first time under pressure.

What the real Punjab driving test actually checks
Once your learner licence has been held for the required minimum period, Punjab Traffic Police requires an in-person visit for the regular licence. At the centre, staff check your original CNIC, record biometrics, and then run a traffic sign test followed by a practical road test on a car or motorcycle depending on your category. New applicants cannot complete this stage online. If you need the learner stage first, start with apply for a learner licence.
How to use this practice quiz
Work through the sign and rule questions at your own pace. If you get something wrong, read the short explanation and move on rather than memorising answers blindly. The goal is to recognise signs quickly on the day, not to pass a quiz. Repeat the quiz a few times across different days so the signs stay familiar closer to your actual test date.
Traffic signs and rules learners often miss
| Sign or rule | What it means |
|---|---|
| Mandatory direction arrows | You must follow the shown direction, not just prefer it |
| No entry (red circle with bar) | Closed to all vehicles from that side, not just one-way for cars |
| Give way / yield triangle | Slow and let other traffic pass before you proceed |
| Pedestrian crossing markings | Stop fully if a pedestrian is on or entering the crossing |
| Speed limit boards | Maximum speed for that stretch, not a target speed |
Examiners also check basic road behaviour such as using indicators before turning, checking mirrors, and keeping a safe following distance. These habits matter as much as sign recognition.
Many learners focus only on memorising sign shapes and miss the practical habits examiners watch for throughout the test, not just at one moment. Smooth gear changes, controlled braking, and checking blind spots before changing lane are usually noted even when they are not listed on a formal checklist. Treat the road test as a continuous observation rather than a series of isolated tasks.
Motorcycle test vs car test: what is different
The motorcycle road test checks balance, slow control, and safe lane position, while the car test checks steering, braking, reversing, and parking control. Both categories use the same sign test. If you are applying for motorcycle plus car together, you may be tested on both practical components, and the licence fee follows the highest category rule explained on the fee calculator.
Documents to bring on test day
- Original CNIC
- Your learner licence (must meet the minimum holding period)
- Passport-size photographs
- Medical certificate from a government doctor if you are above 50
Before you travel to the centre, run your paperwork through the learner document checker so a missing paper does not cost you the trip.
After you pass: what happens next
Once you pass both the sign test and the road test, you move to PSID payment for the regular licence fee shown on the fee tables. Pay only through an approved payment channel, then track your card using the reference shown in your Dastak dashboard.
If you do not pass the first time
A failed attempt is common and is not a permanent block. Ask the centre staff about the retest process and timeline for your district, since it can vary. Review the signs you missed, practise again with this quiz, and avoid agents who claim they can guarantee a pass. No legitimate shortcut exists for the in-person test.
Frequently asked questions
Is this an official DLIMS or Dastak quiz?
No. This is an independent practice tool built by dlimsonline.pk. The official licensing process runs through dastak.punjab.gov.pk and your district traffic police licensing centre.
Can I take the driving test online?
No. The sign test and road test for a first regular licence require an in-person visit for biometric verification and the practical test. Some other services such as renewal and duplicate can be completed through Dastak without a fresh driving test.
How long must I hold a learner licence before the test?
Punjab requires a minimum holding period before you can sit the regular licence test. Confirm the current number of days on your Dastak application status, since policy details can be updated.
Does motorcycle practice help with the car test?
Sign recognition and basic road rules overlap, so practising signs helps either category. The practical road skills are tested separately for motorcycle and car.
Can a family member accompany me to the test?
Policies on accompanying visitors can vary by centre, especially for minors or first-time applicants who may want support nearby. Ask at your specific licensing centre rather than assuming a blanket rule.
